Regan Lynn DonnenfieldRegan Donnenfield has been primed for family law from the start. The day Regan Donnenfield walked into the late Judge James Martin’s Dallas courtroom to observe contempt hearings as a Southern Methodist University law student three years ago, she knew she was destined to become a family lawyer.

Judge Martin was a family friend who’d assisted in Donnenfield’s mother’s divorce when he was in private practice and was a man she’d always admired. And watching family lawyers ply their trade in front of Martin was enough to convince her that she had the skills do that job too.

So the Dallas native dedicated herself to learning all she could about the practice, served as a Research Assistant to an SMU law professor, and looked for an established family lawyer who’d be willing to give her courtroom experience. And Donnenfield eventually found Lisa E. McKnight after meeting a client who’d raved about McKnight’s advocacy skills. McKnight was pleased to discover that Donnenfield who was a quick study in all aspects of family law and the potential to become a rock star litigator.
