Halle Berry custody agreement focused on son’s well-being

On Behalf of | Feb 12, 2017 | Child Custody

Going through a divorce can be an emotional experience. And as hard as it is for adults, divorce can be especially upsetting for children. After all, it can be hard to understand why the two people who you love the most in the world cannot be happy together. This is why, as we wrote in a previous post, it’s so important for divorcing parents to try to work together to shield their children from their conflicts. In that same post, we mentioned how family law judges now prefer co-parenting solutions.

Currently, actress Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez are in the process of finalizing their divorce. And if reports are accurate, the famous couple is trying to do what is best for Maceo, their 3-year-old son. The two have agreed to share legal and physical custody of Maceo.

Moreover, in October of 2015, when the couple announced their pending divorce, they made it clear that they intended to stay focused on their son and that they would remain on amicable terms. They even said that they wished each other a happy life.

According to a source Berry and Martinez have a prenuptial agreement. If this is the case, it is very likely that their divorce will be expedited without any drama.

It would be best for all parties involved if every divorce went as smoothly and amicably as the one Berry and Martinez are currently finalizing. But often, a divorce is emotionally charged and quite contentious.

Whether you are parting with your spouse on reasonably good terms or if you are facing a serious custody battle, it is very helpful to solicit the services of an experienced family law attorney. An attorney can assess your specific circumstances and work to make sure that the terms of your parenting agreement will serve your child’s best interests.
