Arnold Schwarzenegger, the former governor of California and blockbuster film star, has declined his estranged wife Maria Shriver’s request for spousal support. This past May, it was revealed that Arnold had secretly fathered a child with the couple’s housekeeper. Because of the emergence of Arnold’s infidelity, Shriver filed for divorce three weeks ago and has cited irreconcilable differences.

To many the end of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s and Maria Shriver’s marriage came as a surprise. The pair seemingly was an indestructible power couple focused on making the world bend to their goals. The couple met in 1977 and married in 1986. However, the latest foray is not the first time that Arnold’s fidelity has been questioned. During Schwarzenegger’s campaign for the 2003 recall election reports about Arnold’s alleged history of inappropriately touching women surfaced, but Shriver stood by his side and defended him. Schwarzenegger went on to win the election and stayed in office as governor until the end of 2010.

After leaving office, Schwarzenegger planned to return to the spotlight with plans for at least one movie, a comic book based on his time in office and a cartoon. The Governator’s plans were put on hold when it was revealed he fathered a child with long-time housekeeper, Mildred Baena. Soon after, Schwarzenegger announced his and Maria’s separation.

The to-be-divorced couple had four children together. The former couple has two older girls who are 21 and 19. They also had two boys ages 17 and 13. According to court documents, the former couple has agreed to joint custody of the two boys. It looks like the former couple has not agreed to spousal support for Maria. Shriver requested spousal support and court documents show Schwarzenegger declined the request.
